HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH HOMESTEAD AND WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE TEAM?
I started with Homestead September 2020. With all the changes 2020 has brought to our world, I decided to make a change as well. I had recently worked with JR Obrecht, friend and Homestead Financial Branch Manager, on a previous purchase transaction. Throughout our time working one-on-one, JR noticed my work ethic and expressed the immense potential he saw in me for mortgage lending. Knowing JR’s success rate in the business, I trusted his guidance and am happy to now be a part of the Homestead Financial Mortgage team.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS MODEL?
Be straightforward and listen to the borrower’s needs. I like to show every borrower more than one option so they can make an educated decision that fits their financial situation. Being attentive and diligent when working with each borrower’s file to not only benefit the borrowers, but to benefit my Homestead colleagues, as each colleague is important in the loan process. Without their support and guidance, it does not work.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS AS A LOAN OFFICER?
My professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service have always set me apart from others in the business. This is something I take great pride in.

THROUGHOUT YOUR TIME IN LENDING, OF WHAT AREAS OF GROWTH ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD?
I take pride in working hard for each of my borrowers, whether they are obtaining a new home purchase, saving money in a mortgage refinance or simply looking for guidance regarding their current financial situation.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ADVICE TO ANYONE THAT IS NEW TO BEING A LOAN OFFICER, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
Throughout your first several months, you will be asking several questions and experiencing different scenarios that you will need help with. Treat your colleagues like family and do not hesitate to reach out to them for help. You will be relying on their guidance to help you become successful. You are always learning in this business, and you can learn something from just about anyone. Be a sponge…absorb everything and take criticism as a learning experience. Over the course of time, you will learn to adapt to each borrower, as each client is different in their own unique way.

WHEN YOU ARE NOT “MAKING LIVES BETTER, ONE HOME AT A TIME”, HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?
I love to play golf, explore new-to-me restaurants, and travel. I enjoy spending time with my close friends, family, and my 1-year-old German Shepherd dog (Jasper).
